Joint Auditions

Announcing joint AUDITIONS for our Spring Productions of
Psycho Beach Party by Charles Busch and
JAWS: The Musical (THEA 4860)

Two campy, crazy comedies are coming to GSU in the Spring!

General auditions for Psycho Beach Party and Jaws: The Musical will take place Mon. Dec. 4, between 7-9:30, and Tues. Dec. 5 between 7-9pm.

Students are able to audition for one or both of these projects at the same time. In addition, both projects do not conflict with each other; therefore actors are able to perform in both projects.

All theatre majors are required to perform a 1 min. contemporary monologue.

All actors will perform in a group improvisation during their audition time.

If you don’t have monologue, you may be given a scene from Psycho Beach Party to perform.

Please dress in comfortable clothing and shoes that won’t restrict movement.

Note: If you have taken Beginning Acting or Acting 2 with Dr. Fish, please contact him directly at to schedule an audition time for Psycho Beach Party. You will only sign up for a time slot on Mon. Dec. 4th if you would also like to audition for Jaws. If you are currently in Beginning Acting with Dr. Moss-Bouldin, you may contact her directly at to schedule a time to audition for Jaws. However, if you want to also be considered for Psycho Beach Party, you must sign up for a time slot on Monday, December 4th or 5th.

About the Psycho Beach Party:
“Gidget”, Frankie and Annette beach party epics, and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as “Spellbound” and “Marnie” are given a shotgun marriage. Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities. Among them is a black check out girl, an elderly radio talk show hostess, a male model named Steve and the accounting firm of Edelman and Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen named Ann Bowman who has nothing less than world domination on her mind.
